B2Z Engineering is seeking a Bridge Construction Inspector to support TxDOT bridge construction projects throughout the Greater Houston Area. The ideal candidate will have experience in bridge or roadway construction inspection and demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound field judgment, and a commitment to quality and safety.
This position will work closely with B2Z’s project team, TxDOT representatives, contractors, and materials testing personnel to inspect construction activities and document compliance with project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect bridge construction activities, including foundations, reinforcing steel, formwork, concrete placement, beams, bridge decks, bearings, joints, and bridge rails.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable project requirements.
- Evaluate materials and workmanship for compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Prepare accurate daily inspection reports, photographs, quantity measurements, and supporting project documentation.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with experience in civil engineering drafting and plan production. Experience using both MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is required.
Key Responsibilities
Support engineers in developing PS&E packages for transportation and civil infrastructure projects.
Use MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer to prepare and revise plan sheets, layouts, profiles, cross sections, details, and other project drawings under the direction of project engineers.
Incorporate engineering markups and review comments while maintaining accuracy and consistency throughout plan sets.
Prepare drawings in accordance with applicable B2Z, TxDOT, and client drafting standards.
Assist with quantity takeoffs, estimate preparation, drawing reviews, and quality-control checks.
